Carnets du Valais, an independent magazine about the mountains
My name is Léa, I’m a travel writer, and Carnets du Valais is the travel journal I’ve been keeping for several years about Valais and the Swiss Alps. This site is neither a hotel, nor a travel agency, nor a tourist office: it is an independent editorial outlet, written in the first person, that shares my personal experiences of the mountains—hikes, villages, Alpine cuisine, spas, and the art of living at high altitudes.
I have no affiliation with any hotel establishment. I do not represent, manage, or book any hotels, spas, or accommodations. If the name of an establishment appears in an article, it is for informational purposes only or as part of a travel column—never as a commercial offer on my part. For any reservations, you must always go through the official website of the establishment in question.
My Editorial Philosophy
Three pillars guide every article published here:
- Travel & Mountains—hiking trails, peaks, mountain huts, and the seasons in Valais and the Swiss Alps.
- Alpine Lifestyle — local cuisine, wellness, traditions, and local culture.
- Switzerland at Large — when a topic extends beyond Valais but remains useful for anyone planning a mountain trip.
What This Site Is Not
Carnets du Valais is not a booking service. You will find neither a booking engine, nor quotes, nor accommodation rates here. No article should be construed as a commercial offer from any specific establishment. For any questions regarding a trip, please contact the establishment or the relevant official tourism organization directly.
